The ARDEX WPM 185 is an A.P.P. (Atactic Polypropylene) Plastomeric type modified bitumen membrane, consisting of a specially formulated bituminous compound of distilled asphalt modified with selected high-grade visco-elastic polymers. It is reinforced with a combined reinforcement of Polyester and Fibreglass. The membrane is compliant to AS4654.1.
It is typically used as a capping layer in UV exposed membrane systems.

- Anti-Blistering Technology: The embossed bottom surface is designed to allow gases to rapidly escape when heated to the correct installation temperature, avoiding possible problems of bubbling and blistering. * Built-in Temperature Gauge: The bottom surface is protected by a heat-sensitive polythene film, which acts as a temperature gauge during application. When the film melts, it indicates that the compound is at the correct temperature.
- Cold Flexibility: The membrane has a cold flexibility of −5∘C.
- Finish Options: Available in both slate grey mineral and white mineral finishes.
Applications
ARDEX WPM 185 is used as a capping layer in UV exposed membrane systems for environments such as:

- Decks
- Terraces
- Tanking environments
The mineral finish allows for light maintenance foot traffic. It can be used as a single layer UV exposed waterproofing membrane, but is generally installed within a multi-layer system.
